The adidas Manchester Marathon will return on 19 April 2026, promising once again to deliver one of the UK’s most popular running events. Known for its famously flat and fast course, the Manchester Marathon has become a favourite for runners chasing personal bests as well as those taking on the challenge of 26.2 miles for the very first time.

The race prides itself on its inclusivity, welcoming thousands of participants of all abilities to the start line. From elites to first-timers, every runner is met with Manchester’s legendary support, with crowds lining the streets from Altrincham to Sale and Chorlton to the city centre. The atmosphere is often cited as one of the best in the country, making the event an unforgettable experience for runners and spectators alike.

The 2025 edition saw the successful introduction of a striking new Oxford Road finish line, framed by the University of Manchester. It was a fitting stage for the thousands who crossed it, cheered on by over 140,000 spectators, while more than 110,000 tuned in to the event’s live stream. With the event continuing to grow in both size and reputation, the 2026 race looks set to build on that success.
