Magnificent Eastnor Castle Seven

Return of the Magnificent 7

This off-road 7 miler is a classic in the making...

This 'magnificent' springtime event is a real classic. If you fancy a scenic, rural race you'll be pleased to hear that there is still time to join the ranks and toe the line on 29 March at the Magnificent Eastnor Castle 7.

The event takes place at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire, a 19th century fortified structure surrounded by a deer park, gardens and lake at the foot of the Malvern Hills. It’s only open to the public at certain times of the year so taking part in the race provides those taking part with the opportunity to check it out.

The race has been going strong since 2007, and organisers, Ledbury & District Harriers, promise that this year will be better than ever. This is an event that has been created for runners of all abilities including man’s best friend as Canicross made its debut at the 2022 event. Spots for the dog friendly part of the event have already sold out for the 2024 staging but there are still spots available for those running without their pooches.

Runners will be treated to a picturesque rural course over footpaths and woodland trails, culminating in a climb to the Obelisk for some spectacular views on the descent back to the finish. This is a beautiful multi-terrain event with friendly, efficient marshals and plenty of cake for all finishers.

In 2023 Nick Drabble of Black Pear Joggers was first across the line in 44:07 while first female was Niki Morgan of Chepstow Harriers in 54:09. Full results list can be found via runABC's race listing page.
