London Winter Run fun

How's this for an Early Bird!

Help freeze cancer out in London's coolest 10K

We always suggest runners dress for the second mile but the London Winter Run 10K might just be an exception to this golden rule – especially if you want to run as a penguin!

This is the race that takes the winter theme to the extreme with a snow cannon start and all manner of larger-than-life characters, both competing and at special cheer stations around the spectacular route in the capital.

The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run returns to the closed roads of central London for an action-packed 8th edition on Sunday 5th February 2023, and if you are really quick you can benefit from the Early Bird discount that expires at midnight on Tuesday (4th October) saving £8.50 on a standard entry.

Other ways to save include entering teams of four or eight (saving £7 per athlete) or if you are under 21 on race day. However, perhaps the most cost-effective and rewarding experience is to be had by signing up as a Cancer Research UK Exclusive Fundraiser – for £32 you will receive a running top, special event day experience and the Fundraiser Medal when you raise £150 for Cancer Research UK to help freeze cancer in its tracks.

Traditionally starting from Trafalgar Square, runners will be able to enjoy many of the capital’s most iconic landmarks including Nelson’s Column, National Gallery, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Gherkin, London Eye, and Big Ben.

The course is flat, making it perfect for runners of all abilities whilst giving many a guaranteed place in a central London event. The 25,000 available places are usually snapped up quickly, with many using this as the perfect motivation to keep running through the winter months.

Cancer Research UK has been the official charity of the London Winter Run since 2015. Since then, over 100,000 runners have taken part and raised almost £5million to help fund life-saving work in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Half of us will get cancer in our lifetime but we can all support the research that will beat it.
