A Great Start To 2026!
Kick start 2026 with fitness, fun and fresh air in one of Scotland’s most beautiful locations...
Runners can welcome the New Year in spectacular style as the Fitnessat58° Loch Morlich Running Festival returns to the Cairngorms for its eighth edition on 3 January 2026. The scenic event will once again take participants through the breathtaking Glenmore Forest and finish on the golden sands of Loch Morlich beach - surely one of the most uplifting starts to the running calendar.
Now firmly established as one of Scotland’s most picturesque early-year events, the Loch Morlich Running Festival offers something for everyone. Whether participants are chasing a fast time, looking to shake off the Hogmanay cobwebs or simply want to enjoy the fresh Highland air, the festival’s inclusive atmosphere ensures a warm welcome for all abilities.
This year’s festival features a choice of distances with a 5K and 10K option, along with a special category for under 16s. The 5K route provides a scenic, feel-good loop that’s perfect for both walkers and runners, while the 10K doubles the distance and showcases even more of the forest trails and lochside views that make this event so popular.
The day begins with a lively group warm-up led by Fitnessat58° instructor Sam Cairns, setting the tone for a morning filled with energy and positivity. Every finisher will receive a bespoke medal to commemorate their achievement, and there will be plenty of home baking and refreshments waiting at the finish to refuel after the run.
With the snow-capped Cairngorms providing the backdrop and the crisp winter air adding to the challenge, it is the perfect way to start the year with fresh goals and a clear head.
