Room to Run is organised by Huntly Sports Trust in partnership with Huntly Travel Hub and Huntly Rinnin Quines and Loons. Taking place in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, the event includes a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and junior races, with proceeds supporting local sports, health and wellbeing projects. The races form part of the annual Huntly Hairst festival, bringing together runners, residents and visitors for a community celebration.
All races start in Huntly's historic town square before passing Huntly Castle and crossing the River Deveron. The Half Marathon and 10K continue into Bin Forest on a mixture of road and forestry tracks, while the 5K follows a shorter route through the surrounding area. The combination of historic landmarks, woodland and countryside gives each race a distinctive character.
Chip timing is provided for the main races, with finisher medals and commemorative race shirts awarded to participants. A large team of volunteers supports the event throughout the day, while the finish in Huntly town centre and the wider Hairst festival create a welcoming atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.
