Hull 10K Medal Winners

Sam's 10K Triumph!

Fast times at the weekend's Hull 10K with Samuel Roberts breaking the course record by 24 seconds...

The Hull 10K took place at the weekend (9 June), a highlight of the city’s running calendar, there was a celebratory atmosphere, with thousands of spectators lining the streets to cheer on participants of all ages and abilities. A moment of applause was held at the start of the race in honour of Rugby League legend and dear friend of Run For All, Rob Burrow CBE, who sadly passed away last Sunday.

Starting at 09:30 on Alfred Gelder Street, the 10K route took in several of the city’s most popular and iconic landmarks, including the Humber Dock Marina, the award-winning aquarium and Hull Minster.

Whilst charity fundraising was at the heart of the day, there were also competitive elite races involving some of the region’s leading athletes in the 10K distance. In the men’s race, Samuel Roberts triumphed with a time of 30:59. The previous Hull 10K course record was set in 2022 by Jo Maddick who clocked a time of 31:23.

Oliver Donkin, from Barton & District AC took second place in a time of 32:39, followed by Joseph Harding who took third place in a time of 32:47.

Hannah Jacobsen was first to the finish line in an impressive time of 38:14 in the women’s race, and was pushed all the way by runner up Elzbieta Lisowska and Lesley Connors, who clocked 39:30 and 41:42 respectively.

But the real winners were local charities, who will benefit from the efforts of the many people who took part for good causes, raising tens of thousands of pounds in the process and making a vital difference. Participants were encouraged to fundraise for a chosen charity or for one of the events partner charities.

More than just a day of running, the day also highlighted the incredible communities in and around the city, from running clubs, volunteer’s and schools, with all areas of the city showing their support. Participants were encouraged out on course by local entertainment groups; Pride in Hull and Beverley & District Pipe Band.

Entries are now open for next year’s Hull 10K, which will be staged on Sunday 8 June, you can find out more on the Run For All website.
