Hero Half Marathon

The Hero Half Marathon is Race 3 of The Tour, the iconic four day running festival that explores the best routes, trails and landscapes across Tameside, Oldham and Glossop. Runners can enter the event as a standalone race or as part of the full Tour challenge, which takes place over four consecutive days.

Starting in Hadfield, the Half Marathon follows the Longdendale Trail on the edge of the Peak District. The mixed terrain route provides a scenic challenge with countryside views and a welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities.

Following the X-Trail 10K and Hell on the Fell, the Hero Half Marathon forms the longest stage of The Tour before the finale at the Dr Ron Hill Hyde 7. Combining varied terrain, supportive race day atmosphere and attractive Peak District surroundings, it is a popular challenge for both experienced runners and those taking on their first Half Marathon.
