Twixmas Treat
There's no better time than 'Twixmas' to lace up and enjoy a festive road race through the Herefordshire countryside...
The Hereford Couriers Christmas 10K will return on 28 December, offering runners one last festive outing before the New Year. Starting and finishing at Hereford Rugby Club, the popular race once again takes participants through the quiet country lanes around Breinton for a brisk post-Christmas challenge.
Now in its eighth year, the event has grown steadily and has become a firm favourite on the local running calendar. Organisers say the mildly undulating route is suitable for runners of all abilities, with full course marking, supportive marshals and a water station at the halfway point. Every finisher will receive a festive medal and the race will be chip timed.
The race takes place on open but quiet rural roads and attracts runners from clubs across the region. In 2024 the event drew close to 400 participants who enjoyed ideal winter conditions. Charlie Jones of Western Tempo won the men’s race in 31:44 while Chloe Elliott of Sale Harriers Manchester took the women’s title in 38:30.
Age-category prizes will be awarded once again and organisers are expecting another strong turnout, especially after the race was shortlisted in the Running Industry Awards for Bespoke or Specialist Event of the Year.
