Hastings Half Marathon

Sunday 29th March is the date for your diary if you want to join in the fun at the 2020 Hastings Half Marathon.

This year will see the 36th running of this iconic event organised by Hastings Lions Club. Open to all abilities, organisers encourage entrants to raise money for their own good causes and this community event will help you every step of the way with a real friendly, festival atmosphere.

Strong crowd support, bands, discos and even choirs will be cheering you round the 13+ miles, plus pacers from 90 to 150 minutes have been introduced for 2020. There's also a free quality programme and free parking and, if you're not driving, there's a good train service to a nearby station.

The event is run under UK Athletic Rules, and is well-marshalled with first class medical support. The course circumnavigates the ancient town of Hastings, starting at the seafront and following the route of William the Conqueror towards battle, round the back of the town and down to the famous 'Old Town' and fishing village of Hastings.

The course then comes back along the three mile seafront to where you started. Although tough for the first part of the course, runners have produced some very fast times and PBs as the last two-thirds is flat or downhill before finishing on the Promenade.

Hastings Half Marathon is the perfect warm-up for London or Brighton Marathons and, with a field of 4,000, there's a 'big event' feel to help get you prepared. Every finisher receives a unique 'Hastings Brass' as a memento.
