Zooming like a rocket at the Guy Fawkes 5

Have a blast at the Guy Fawkes 5

Runners will be looking to sparkle at this sold out race.

Remember, remember, the Guy Fawkes 5 in November with a flat, fast course, generous prize list and free cake afterwards. This is the race to go like a rocket with the aim of bagging an award and/or picking up valuable points.

Race 12 and the last in the Gloucestershire AAA Road Race Series; the Guy Fawkes 5 takes place on Sunday 6 November where a keen field of runners will be pushing the pace for individual and team glory. Organised by Tewkesbury Running Club, it is a favourite with many people and such is its popularity that this year’s race is full with a waiting list.

Light the touch paper and watch them fly off from the start at 10am to follow a flat course on country lanes with minimal traffic and two bridges to cross over the M5. Mile markers and marshals along with other signage will keep them moving in the right direction.

The runners will zoom across the finish line to collect a medal and bottle of water followed by a post-race massage courtesy of Amy Dyer. Then reward themselves for their efforts with the complimentary homemade cakes (donations are welcome) which are sure to go down well. The same with the refreshments from local business Orchard Catering.

The prizes include a diamond clear glass for the overall male and female, vouchers for age category winners thanks to Gloucester Sports Shop and a team prize.

Ben Maliphant and Gemma Collier were the 2021 winners. Who will be the victors this year?

Finally...Tewkesbury Running Club chooses a local cause to support each year with Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) their nominated charity for 2022.
