Go For Gold In Glasgow
Whether you are running for charity, to achieve a goal or simply to soak up the atmosphere, the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run promises an unforgettable day...
Feeling inspired by the weekend’s Great North Run coverage? Now it’s your turn to take on the challenge, as the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run returns to Glasgow on 5 October and it is your chance to be part of one of Scotland’s most exciting running events.
Just like the Great North Run, the streets will be filled with energy as thousands of runners set off, each with their own story and reason for taking part. From the rush of crossing the start line to the pride of hitting the finish, every step will be fuelled by determination, camaraderie and the incredible support of the Glasgow crowds.
The course showcases the city at its best, starting in George Square before heading through the bustling city centre, across the iconic Clyde Arc and along the River Clyde. Runners will pass Glasgow’s scenic parks, including Bellahouston Park and Pollok Country Park, before the final stretch back to Glasgow Green, where the finish line awaits beneath the shadow of the People’s Palace.
This year’s race is also part of Glasgow’s 850th anniversary celebrations, making it an even more memorable occasion. Since the early 80s, the Great Scottish Run has been a fixture on the country’s running calendar, attracting elite athletes, club runners and enthusiastic first-timers alike. It is known for its friendly yet competitive atmosphere and its ability to inspire people of all ages to lace up their trainers.
