Pacers Powered By Music!
The unbeatable atmosphere of the Great Bristol Run returns in six weeks
There are just over six weeks to go to the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run, back on Sunday 14 May 2023 for another spectacular celebration of running in this great maritime city. The event is one of the UK's most popular and has been part of the city since 1989, but each year it gets better.
The scenic 10K and Half Marathon routes take in Bristol’s best landmarks, but it’s not just the inspiring views that attract runners from far and wide: the start line DJ, rocking on-course music zones, and post-race celebrations combine to create an unbeatable atmosphere.
Great Run organisers are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s event the best yet, so here are just some of the reasons why it should be on your 2023 must-do list:
Pacers powered by music! Great Run’s pacing team is always on hand to give runners the best chance of smashing out a personal best, but this year's pacers will be blasting out tunes all along the course to keep motivation high.
Rocking music and cheer zones! More than 15 music zones, live bands, and charity cheer squads will line the route to keep legs pumping and put smiles on faces from start to finish.
Brizzle Bling! Get ready for post-race selfies with the 2023 finisher medal. Wear it with pride for a whole week (at least).
Terrific Tees! The snazziest T-shirt in town is a just reward for runners as they cross the finish line. The event village will be a sea of red as runners don their new favourite fashion items.
Post-race party! Runners, families, and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy post-race celebrations in the Après Run zone, with a live DJ turning up the feelgood factor!
Meet Wallace and Gromit! Wallace and Gromit will be on the Family Run start line to meet and greet runners, with special prizes up for grabs for the best ‘wrong trousers’ costumes.
Support from sign-up to the finish line! Great Run offers support from the outset with training plans and advice, race day prep, and motivation every step of the way, and you will be roared across the finish line and applauded in the Event Village once you’ve conquered the challenge.
VI Runners 10K Challenge! The event stages the UK’s only dedicated Visually Impaired race, and in partnership with VI Runners Bristol is aiming to promote participation in running for people registered as severely sight impaired.
Bristol really comes alive on race day, and there’s still time to sign up and be part of the action. So make Great Bristol Run your next challenge and be part of something special on Sunday 14 May. To find out more and enter visit the official Great Bristol Run website here.
