Gnosall Ladies Running Club launch their Virtual 10K Covid-19 Run

Gnosall 10K launches global Virtual Covid-19 Run

Gnosall 10K goes global as it launches its Virtual Covid-19 Run.

The organisers of the Gnosall 10K invite runners from around the world to participate in their virtual event to support the Gnosall Carnival Fund on behalf of the community. In conjunction with Fit Box and Race the World they have created the Virtual Gnosall 10K Covid-19 Run to be held on the weekend 13/14 June.

Gnosall Ladies Running Club (GLRC) were gearing up for the fifth Gnosall 10K that has become a favourite for many people who enjoy the scenic, multi-terrain course, friendly atmosphere and technical t-shirt and goody bag. It was due to take place on Saturday 13 June but the coronavirus outbreak resulted in this race being postponed until 12 June 2021.

Local sponsors Fit Box Personal Training Studio and Race the World came to the aid of GLRC and the local community and together, launched a virtual 10K that is open to everyone. Walkers as well as runners are welcome and both groups choose their route – part of which must be off-road as the Gnosall 10K is partly, a trail race and send evidence of this via email. A bespoke medal will be posted out in return.

The organisers stress that this is a separate event to the Gnosall 10K and that entries for this year’s race have been deferred to 2021.

This is a not-for-profit virtual run and all proceeds will be used for the upkeep of Gnosall village and St Lawrence Church.

Here are a few words of encouragement from Race Director Bob Middleton and the 10K team: “Look after yourselves in these unsettled times, stay safe and keep smiling!”
