Test Yourself On The Banks Of Loch Ness

Loch Ness 24 may be a challenge, but it sure sounds fun...

Are you looking for an active adventure this summer? A trail race that doubles as a camping mini-break with fellow runners is sure to appeal to many of you. And what will make it even more appealing is the location - with Loch Ness 24 set to take over the banks of Scotland's iconic loch over the weekend 27-28 August.

This brand new event is billed as 'the ultimate endurance challenge' - a 24hr solo or team relay trail race where participants have to clock up as many 7K laps as they can in the time alloted. It might be testing physically, but some of the best scenery in the world as a backdrop will certainly help!

Organisers commented: ""This incredible mix of forest trails, pebble beaches and rolling grassy hillsides makes for THE toughest and most spectacular 24hr relay course in the UK."

There's something particularly comforting about taking part in an event where you can camp as well. It means you can take a break anytime you need, soak up the camaraderie at the event village and camp out under the stars in the most iconic location.

This epic certainly deserves a special place in your running year… so why not take part for charity? There are free charity places up for grabs with Chest Heart Stroke Scotland (CHSS). One in five people in Scotland are living with a chest, heart or stroke condition – including Long Covid.

A spokesperson for CHSS said: "Every kilometre you run will be helping people across Scotland do more than just survive – you’ll be helping them really live!

"So take advantage of one of our free places and run through spectacular trails in an ancient Scots pine forest and along the beaches of Loch Ness. You'll be doing it for yourself, but also to help people across Scotland get the support they desperately need to recover after a life-changing diagnosis."

You can sign up for a free 'Charity Pledge Place' ticket and pledge to raise a minimum of £175 for CHSS at the Loch Ness 24.
