Tap Into Free Marathon Coaching

Sign up for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and benefit from a series of free talks, workshops and coaching sessions...

Starting on Sunday 15 January, the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University will be offering a series of informative talks, workshops, and coaching sessions for free to all Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon entrants.

The University will also be providing a range of high-quality sports science services and clinics specially designed to provide runners with additional insight and information to fine-tune and direct their training programmes. Completing a marathon is a significant achievement that requires a considerable level of physical preparation and planning, as well as executing an effective race plan on the day. Knowing the best approach and what to do can seem quite daunting.

Their series of talks, workshops, coaching sessions, and applied services are designed to help increase your knowledge and understanding of important aspects of marathon training and racing. These will provide you with individualised information to inform your training and help you achieve your marathon goals. Whether you just want to complete the distance, or you want to attain a certain target time - this is where they can help!

Professor John O’Hara, Director of the Centre for Human Performance, Carnegie School of Sport, Leeds Beckett University, said: "Completing a Marathon is a significant challenge. So why not optimise your preparations by engaging in our informative talks, coaching sessions, and sports science services, helping you optimise your training and performance on the day."

Siobhan Curtis, Communications Director at Run For All said: "It’s fantastic to have Leeds Beckett University as a partner for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon. The university shares the kind of energy and community spirit that mirrors our own philosophy for our events.

"We are excited to bring this partnership to our participants in order to further support them on their marathon journey to achieving their goals."
