Foxtrail Winter Series Runners

Winter Series With Lots To Offer

This east coast five-race winter series has a race for everyone...

Looking ahead to winter it’s always a good idea to have some events lined up so that training doesn’t fall by the wayside when the weather turns! One event on your calendar is great, but what about an entire race series to really keep the momentum going?

The Foxtrail Winter Running Series (five races) kicks off on 26 November at Foxlake in East Lothian where there will be two distances on offer (5 and 13K). Both routes start and finish at Foxlake HQ from which runners will set out through woodland, farmlands and along the coast on the John Muir Way.

Heading into December, the second event in the series will take place on the 10th at Balgone Estate, North Berwick. Grab your best headtorch for this one as it is the only night run of the series. 5 and 10K distances are on offer this time with a course that takes runners on a mixture of forest trails and open farmland.

Race three is the Pole to Pole which takes place at Coldingham on 14 January. This Coastal Trail Run is a challenging event on the beautiful Berwickshire coast and has 5 and 19K distances. The 19K run includes a special timed stage between the two Admiralty Distance Poles that stand high on the St Abb’s Head headland.

In February (4th) runners will head to Tyninghame Beach for a 5K or half marathon. The half route provides spectacular coastal views, mature woodland trail, farm paths and an energy sapping beach run on the sands of Tyninghame Beach.

The final races of the series takes place on 4 March and will see runners back at FoxTrail HQ for a 5K or the classic 16K route which includes a run on the sands of Belhaven Beach and the atmospheric bridge to nowhere.

You can find out more about all these races on the event website
