Flat Caps At The Ready!

Is the course as flat as the head gear for this Yorkshire 10k? You'll need to find out...

Ay-up, ay-up... get your head gear at the ready for West Yorkshire's Flat Caps 10K which is set to return to Sowerby Bridge on 11 June.

The undulating 10K course takes runners on a scenic route around the picturesque Calderdale countryside. Starting and finishing at at Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club, participants can enjoy tea, coffee, buns, bacon and vegetarian butties after the race action!

Now in its fifth year, 100% of profits from this event go to the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, a charity very close to hearts of race organisers, Sowerby Bridge Snails. Over £2,000 was raised in 2022 and over £9,000 has been raised so far from the event.

Founded over 100 years ago The Christie has played a crucial role in the advancement of cancer treatment and care. The Christie is an amazing charity who treat and support over 44,000 people with cancer each year. Their enhanced services can improve the length and quality of life for people living with cancer beyond what is offered by the NHS.

The race is chip timed and all participants will receive a bespoke medal. There is also a £50 cash prize for course records, and there are pretty recent course records to beat. The mens time was set just last year (Jamie Fradgley in 38:30) and the women's record the year before in 2021 (Janine Mcgregor in 44:51).
