Liverpool John Lennon Airport 5K Runway Run

Runway Run Takes Off In Liverpool

Pay a flying visit to Liverpool Airport later this month...

Runners will be swapping city streets for airport tarmac later this month as Liverpool John Lennon Airport opens its runway for a unique 5K charity run in support of Alder Hey Children’s Charity. The Liverpool John Lennon Airport 5K Runway Run takes off in the early hours of Saturday 22 November, giving participants the rare chance to run the full length of the runway guided by the lights usually reserved for aircraft.

The event marks a first for both Alder Hey Children’s Charity and the airport, inviting runners, fundraisers and aviation enthusiasts to experience a race like no other. Taking place between aircraft operations, the run promises an unforgettable atmosphere under the stars with the runway lights illuminating the way. Registration opens at 11:45pm on Friday 21 November, with the run beginning at 2:00am on Saturday morning.

Every runner will receive a commemorative medal, a finisher’s T-shirt and a goody bag featuring gifts from main sponsors easyJet and easyJet holidays. There will also be exciting prizes on offer for top fundraisers and fastest finishers, including flight tickets from easyJet and easyJet holidays and event tickets donated by the M&S Bank Arena.

All participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship, with 80% of that total to be raised before race day and the remaining amount payable within a week of the event.
