At some point we’ve all run 5K through an airport – sprinting through duty free, dashing to your gate, 5 minutes ‘til departure! Well, here’s a unique opportunity to do so on the runway!

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is generously opening up its runway to the public for a 5K fun-run in support of Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
The fun-run – an exciting first for both Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Liverpool John Lennon Airport – will give participants a chance to run the length of the runway, with the runway lights guiding their path!
Taking place in the slightly quieter early hours of the morning, participants will be complete their 5K in between planes using the runway for take-off and landing!
