Festive Footie Running Fun

Football and festive fun join forces at this family-focused December event...

Runners and football fans alike are invited to get into the festive spirit on 14 December for the Port Vale 5K and Boomers Santa Hat Run, taking place at Vale Park Stadium, home of Port Vale FC in Stoke-on-Trent.

This year’s event adds an extra splash of Christmas cheer as participants don Santa hats to raise funds for the Port Vale Foundation. The fun run returns as part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations, and everyone is encouraged to choose between a traditional red and white Santa hat or show their club colours in black and white.

Two races are on offer, both finishing with a lap of the pitch and a stadium finish in front of the Hamil Road Stand. The Port Vale 5K route takes runners from Vale Park through the streets of Burslem and Sproson Park before returning to the ground, while the Boomers Santa Hat Run offers a shorter course ideal for families and younger participants, starting by the club shop and finishing safely inside the stadium.

All finishers will receive a bespoke medal, with prizes awarded for podium positions, age categories and special recognitions such as the first finisher wearing a Vale top. Beyond the races, a lively Vale fan zone will be open with food, games, stalls and a bar, and the club shop will welcome visitors looking to tick off their Christmas shopping.
