This summer, head to the coast and take part in the Eyemouth Twilight 5K which will see runners set off from the town's Giacopazzi's Gelato at 8pm on 23 August 2024.

Organised by Eyemouth Development Trust this will be the 12th staging of the popular summertime event, a spokesperson commented: "This event has been a tradition for many years, and we are excited to bring it back with new features and improvements based on your valuable feedback."

Whether you are a local resident, a visitor, or a runner from afar, this fantastic event offers something for everyone. This year, organisers are introducing a certified 5K route, verified by Scottish Athletics which will 'ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for all participants'.

For the first time there will also be chip timing for the 5K, guaranteeing that each runner's official time is recorded from when they individually cross the starting mats. Organisers say: "This system provides a fair and accurate reflection of your running performance, eliminating any advantage for those positioned closer to the front at the start."

All participants in both the 5K and Fun Run will receive a goodie bag and a delicious ice cream provided by the headline sponsor, Giacopazzi's Gelato. Organisers say there will be an official finish line and they are working on additional entertainment and collaborations with local businesses to showcase everything Eyemouth has to offer.
