Enter one of the UK’s longest running and most loved Half Marathons and help celebrate its 43rd year! Join over 6000 runners of all abilities to run through the beautiful and historic streets of Chester on 18 May. The Essar Chester Half Marathon has it all - a fast, predominantly flat course taking runners through the stunning city of Chester and the beautiful, lush Cheshire countryside.

The route is designed with all runners in mind from first time runners, fun-runners through to the running enthusiasts and elites. Beginning at Chester racecourse the route navigates through the vibrant historic sights of Chester, before heading into some charming local villages before culminating in a breathtaking city centre finish.

The event vibe is very much about participants experiencing the best race day and this begins from the moment you enter. Organisers will keep everyone updated and involved and ready to get the best out of race day and, with the best pace crew on the circuit, you’ll run a great race. There will be friendly and experienced pacers running every 10-minute interval between 1:30 hours to 2:30 hours.

The experience doesn’t end when those taking part cross the finish line, as there will be a stunning medal, finishers t-shirt and the well-renowned and ever-popular race goody bag to collect. You'll need to be quick as this event has been a sell out for four consecutive years.

Fancy trying something a little different. Why not enter the 2025 Chester Deva Triathlon on Sunday 1 June? Organisers have Triathlon and Aquabike events for beginners through to seasoned pros. The Triathlon events include Olympic, Middle distance (T100) and Sprint options - if a couple of your mates want to get involved, the T100 and Olympic Triathlon can be completed as a relay team.
