Templeton 10 Mile Road Race

Remember, Remember The Templeton 10 Miler!

Is it time to take on the Templeton 10 Miler?

Runners in Dundee and the surrounding areas, will be very familiar with the Templeton 10 Mile Road Race. In fact, it would be fair to say that most runners in Scotland will have heard of, or ran in, this classic event.

The 10 Miler is a well-established and popular race which appeals to runners of all types, its course is scenic and consists of quiet, undulating, country roads on the outskirts of Dundee. Speaking about their event, Dundee Roadrunners say: "This event is Dundee Roadrunners' major contribution to world culture and has been quoted as one of the UK's top ten mile events in Runner's World!"

Scheduled for 5 November this year, the race may not have a Guy Fawkes theme, but it does have plenty to offer those looking for a good test over the 10 mile distance. The popular undulating country route provides a great challenge, and an opportunity to try a slightly different distance.

In 2022 it was James Waldie of Perth Road Runners who won the race in 56:41 while first female was Dumfries Running Club's Lisa Finlay in 1:07:26. All the Templeton 10 Mile Road Race results can be found via runABC's listing.

The race start is roughly a mile from Clatto Centre, on Templeton Road and there will be signs up on the route showing the way to the start line. Organisers say: "Post race there will be a buffet and hot and cold drinks, please remember to bring your own cup/mug! There will also be goody bags for all finishers, which will include a surprise Templeton 10 momento."
