Bravehearts Last Call For 10K
This September 10K offers a fast, historic and beautiful course...
One of the country's most enduring 10K events will return this September, and there is still time for you to be a part of the action as entries close on Sunday (August 21) for Central AC's City Of Stirling 10K.
The 21st staging of this popular 10K race take place on 11 September with its well-established course remaining the same as in previous years. And it really is a fantastic course for history buffs and speed demons alike, as the super-fast route offers fantastic views of Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument and the Ochil Hills.
In 2021, 33 of the top 50 finishers ran a PB time, and in 2019 36 of the top 50 finishers did the same, so if ever there was a time to go for broke - this is it! Organisers do have this to say though: "Despite the super fast times recorded each year our race is not only for the speedy runners! It doesn’t matter if you run 30 minutes or 1 hour 30 minutes, everyone is welcome and the last finisher will get just as big a cheer as the first finisher!"
Thanks to the support of sponsors, organisers have been able to offer some improvements for this year's event, one of which is providing pacers for 40, 50 and 60 minutes. There will also be a piper at the most scenic parts of the course as runners approach the Wallace Monument - perfect for that Braveheart moment!
There is also a 2K Kids Fun Run for ages 7 to 14 which has an out-and-back course which follows the 10K route to the 1K mark where runners turn and head back to the finish. Adults are more than welcome to run with kids on the day but organisers are for 'no dipping at the finish line'!
