End Of May Marks English Half Price Rise
The end of May heralds the last day in which runners can take advantage of reduced price entry to this year’s English Half Marathon. With the half marathon celebrating its 10th anniversary on Sunday 16 September, the 2018 race looks set to be a memorable occasion.
10 years in business and the English Half has gone from strength to strength. In 2014, race organisers expanded the event under the banner of the EHM Festival of Run with the addition of a 10k road race and family fun run. 2017 witnessed the launch of the Friday Night 5K, the perfect evening kick-off to what is now a full weekend of running.
Over the last decade, the half has regularly attracted a sell-out field and is expected to do so in 2018. Part of its continued attraction is its great course, the event takes runners through Warrington and concludes with a spectacular finish through the town's Golden Gates.
In the later stages runners enjoy some great sights - the Guardians at Market Gate, the River of Life on Bridge Street, the Cultural Quarter and Halliwell Jones Stadium, home of Warrington Wolves, before the grand finale.
