Easter Runs And Fun
We have an eggstra-special weekend (31 March – 1 April) of races across the Midlands this Easter. Something to suit all tastes and racers will burn off the extra calories from those chocolate eggs, hot cross buns, simnel cake etc.
The weather forecast shows a strong likelihood of snow this weekend but Sunday looks dry which means races will go ahead as arranged. Taking place on that day is the Chasewater Easter Egg 10K and 5K in Burntwood, Staffordshire. Held at Chasewater Country Park on undulating trails and paths around the Reservoir, it starts at 10.30am and themed fancy dress is a must. Come dressed as an Easter bunny, chick or lamb and receive an Easter medal plus goodies at the finish. There is a shorter race for children.
For those that like spring lamb or should I say ram there is the Ultra Ram Run weekend at Cliff Lakes Watersports in Tamworth. This is an obstacle course race involving trail running, water and plenty of things to climb over, swing across, crawl under and carry along. At Saturday’s Ultra Ram racers can run up to four timed 9K laps (36K) whereas at Sunday’s Spring Ram they can run for three 8K laps (24K) giving them a total of 60K over the two days.
Another Easter race is the Enigma Good Friday Marathon and Half Marathon at Caldecotte, Milton Keynes. In addition to this is an Easter Monday Marathon too with both events involving multiple laps in a clockwise/anti-clockwise direction. There is also the Easter 10K on Monday at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

Happy Easter from runABC Midlands.
