Rochdale Half Marathon

Early bird takes off at Rochdale

The starting gun has been fired with the opening of registration for this year’s Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon and 10K, with price cut by over a quarter for an enticing early bird offer.

Scheduled for Sunday 6 October, both distances offer a prime start and finish point by the Grade One listed Rochdale Town Hall. The routes have also been designed to incorporate some of the North West’s most picturesque countryside like Hollingworth Lake.

Since its launch in 2015, the Rochdale Half & 10K has attracted over 4,500 participants and, with registration already sitting at 200, organisers are confident this number will grow impressively come October.

Councillor Janet Emsley, the council’s cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture said early demand for places has been high: “Whether you’re looking to run your first 10K or half marathon in 2019 or get that personal best you’ve been striving for, now is the time to set your goals and sign up. “

On the number of registrations so far, she added: “We sold 200 places within a couple of weeks of going on sale so demand is strong. Our early bird discount should encourage more people to secure their places for what is already a great value event.”

Entry for the half is priced at just £25.40, with the 10k at £17.60. You can secure your place here.
