Worcester City Runs are returning weekend 3-4 September 2022 and entries have opened with ‘Early Bird’ prices until 15 March. There is a new route and new charity partner for this year’s event and Nike kit as part of the generous prize list.

Brought to you by Events of the North in partnership with Worcester City Council, the two day festival of running has something for everyone, from children to adults, individuals to families. All the events are held in this West Midlands county town, home to a medieval cathedral, racecourse, university and cricket ground.

Worcester Racecourse is the venue for Paula Radcliffe’s Families on Track, a relay event on Saturday 3 September starting with Wave 1 at 11am. The aim is to complete 10K via a series of laps in any order or combination and within a safe environment. In the words of the founder: “Our goal is for the whole family to spend quality time together while exercising but more importantly, having fun in the process.” Paula is a big fan of this event and will be there with her kids soaking up the atmosphere whilst giving people a cheer.

Sunday sees the Junior Run beginning at 8.45am with 1 Mile for U11’s and 3K for U15’s. This is followed by the 10K at 9.15am then the Half Marathon at 9.35am.

The traffic-free course takes in more of the city centre and landmarks which also mean more places for spectators to show their support for the runners. Many will have a PB in their sights; others running for charity and for some people, their first time at the distance.

Speaking of worthy causes...Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity is the official partner and runners are being recruited to fundraise for them via this event.
