May The Running Be Fast At The DK10K
Kick-start next month with a top quality, evening race in the West Midlands
If you are looking for a mid-week blast then look no further than the DK10K on Wednesday 3 May at 7.15pm. Race home from work then race hard on a closed road course with other enthusiasts and be rewarded for your endeavours.
The DK10K is a well organised and long established race from Dudley Kingswinford RC which is always held on the first Wednesday in May. A BARR Gold Standard event, it has become a favourite with many club runners who enjoy the challenge posed by the undulating course on quiet country lanes.
One of the biggest 10K’s in the area, it starts (and finishes) at Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club, winding around Greensforge and Enville. Smiling, efficient marshals will keep things moving whilst providing encouragement to runners as they tackle the inclines and descents.
There are prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd men and women plus age category winners - M40/M45/M50/M55 and M60: F40/F45/F50/F55 and F60. Expect battles for these between the competitive club runners. Each finisher receives a medal.
Then make the most of the facilities at the rugby club which include a bar and food along with parking, changing rooms and showers.
The race is open to runners aged 16 years upwards and entries close 2 May so be sure to sign up soon via the StuWeb website.
