Celebrate With Dentdale Run
A Yorkshire classic celebrates 40 years in 2024...
Yorkshire's Dentdale Run celebrates its 40 year anniversary this year and organisers are urging anyone who has considered taking part before to come along and join the celebrations this March (9th).
The scenic event offers a 14.2 or 7.9 mile road race around the lanes of beautiful Dentdale in the Yorkshire Dales. The Dentdale 14.2 heads out from Dent village towards Sedbergh before turning back towards Dent then heading out of the other side of the valley towards Cowgill before once again turning back towards Dent with the finish in the centre of the village.
For runners looking for something a little shorter, the Dentdale 7.9 covers the first half of the above course before turning back into the village with the finish in the centre.
The course is challenging with many runners using it as a warm up for the London Marathon. Speaking about their event, organisers say: "An undulating course but the most scenic race you will do, you will be provided with a hot drink, sandwich and a cake at the end."
As it is the 40th anniversary run in 2024, organisers are giving two returning runners the chance to win their entry-fee back! All you have to do to be in with a chance to win your entry-fee back is send organisers a 10 second video explaining what you love about the Dentdale Run. All clips should be sent in a Facebook message by 21 January and organisers will announce winners shortly after.
