Make A Date In Darwen
Scenic Lancashire half returns in April 2025...
Darwen Dashers Running Club along with RunningSpec Events will be bringing back the Darwen Half Marathon in 2025. The favourite 'rollercoaster' half will returns on 6 April, bigger (but not longer) and better than ever with a new down hill start.
The undulating, circular route has 1411 feet of ascent taking runners from Darwen through Edgeworth, Chapeltown and Egerton before heading back towards Darwen with the last mile a gentle downhill to the finish.
Organisers tell us: "The route is run in an anti-clockwise direction, with left turns making up almost the entire course. If the weather is good, you’ll have a clear view of Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell beyond Blackburn. On an exceptionally clear day, you can even see as far as Ingleborough and the Lake District!"
There is an on-site café serving hot and cold food, hot and cold drinks and snacks in addition to toilets, changing facilities and secure bag drop. There will be a goody bag for all which will include a medal and t-shirt.
Whether you are chasing a personal best or simply looking to enjoy the camaraderie of running, this scenic race offers stunning views and an unforgettable experience. Check out this race preview video for a taste of what to expect.
