Award Winning 10K Returns
Join the masses at this September's Cumbernauld 10K...
One of the Central Belt's most popular and community-minded 10K races is back this autumn and despite entries already being higher than ever, there is still time to make sure you too are a part of the fun on 3 September.
The Cumbernauld 10K is delivered by the Active & Creative Communities department of North Lanarkshire Council and was named Scotland’s 10K of the year at the 2018 National Running Awards, beating out 20 other top events this is a race with award-winning pedigree.
In addition to the ‘flat, fast and beginner friendly’ 10K, organisers will again be offering a 3K timed run for S1-S4 pupils, a 1K run for P5–P7 pupils, a 400m run for P1–P4 pupils and a toddler dash for children aged three to five.
Free, fun activities for all the community will also take place throughout the day to encourage everyone to come along and support the runners. Race organisers told us: "There will be free admission to bouncy castles and 'come and try' activities. There will also be the opportunity for birthday announcements on the score board. So come along join in the fun and cheer on the runners. We have something for everyone!"
The 2023 Cumbernauld 10K will run in partnership with North Lanarkshire Suicide Prevention with donations collected at registration. And organisers are also delighted to offer a Victory Mile Walk event in partnership with their registered charity, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.
