Summer Racing In Perthshire

With stunning scenery, a welcoming atmosphere and a challenging course this Perthshire 10K is the perfect summer race...

Perthshire's Crieff 10K is back on 13 July and will once again provide runners with one of Scotland’s most breathtaking multi-terrain races. This year’s event will also incorporate the Scottish Athletics National Mid-Trail Championships for U20s and Seniors, making it a must-run race for both elite athletes and local club runners.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Perthshire, the race kicks off from Morrison’s Academy Sports Ground (Dallerie), heading out over Laggan Hill, past the Baird Monument and winding back along the picturesque banks of the River Earn via Lady Mary’s Walk. The undulating course provides a perfect mix of trail and road, making it both challenging and rewarding.

Organisers Strathearn Harriers comment: "We are proud to host the event again and extend thanks to Morrison’s Academy for providing top-class facilities, as well as to The Glenturret Distillery for their generous support. Runners can look forward to legendary post-race refreshments, including home baking, making this one of the friendliest and best-value races on the Scottish running calendar."

Runners will also have the chance to chase course records, with prizes on offer for new benchmarks. The current records stand at 32:45 for men (Robert Gilroy, 2014) and 36:58 for women (Toni McIntosh, 2004).

While the 10K runners take on the course, younger athletes can get involved in the Crieff Junior 5K Trail Race, which also follows a spectacular route over Laggan Hill and Lady Mary’s Walk. A separate 1-mile fun run will be held on the Morrison’s Academy playing fields, giving future stars the chance to experience race-day excitement.
