Late autumn racing at the Bonfire Burn 10K

Hotfoot it for the Bonfire Burn 10K

Register now for the 10th anniversary race.

The Bonfire Burn 10K returns on Sunday 7 November and entries are likely to go quickly for this sizzler of a race, organised by the charity Friends of Histon & Impington Community and supported by HI Runners. This year it is celebrating its 10th birthday...

As summer slips away to be replaced by the chilly days of autumn, thoughts turn to late season races before the countdown to Christmas begins. Bonfire Night is just over two months away followed by this multi-terrain race two days later where runners have a chance to go like a rocket, aiming for an age category win or a PB.

Runners make their way to Station Road, Histon where they group themselves into four start waves with the first off at 10.30am followed by the second at 10.33am, the third at 10.36am and the fourth at 10.39am.

These head towards the bridleway along the Guided Busway, remembering to stay on the left hand side to avoid any possible collisions with cyclists. They continue onto Milton Road and through Cambridge Science Park then around the back of Cambridge Regional College. Rejoin the bridleway and follow the cycle path to Milton Road then Impington before gearing up for a sprint finish in the Recreation Ground.

This friendly 10K is one of several events from Friends of Histon & Impington Community (known informally as HI Friends). They work hard to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of people in their villages which has taken on greater importance as a result of the pandemic.

Join in the 10th anniversary celebrations. For more information and to enter, visit the Bonfire Burn 10K website.
