Cove & Kilcreggan 10K

This Beauty Is Back!

If this race is half as hot as it was last year, then the post race loch dip will be a no brainer!

After enjoying a successful inaugural outing in 2023 the Cove & Kilcreggan 10K will return this year, once again taking runners on a scenic tour of the beautiful Rosneath Peninsula.

With temperatures plummeting this week, now is the time to look ahead to the warmer days of early summer when this event will take place on 9 June. Indeed, 2023's event took place on a beautiful warm and sunny day, further highlighting the glorious surroundings of the area.

Organiser's told us: "It's the same route as last year - varied, challenging and never dull. Hopefully we will have the pipes again this year.....the bagpipes and hose pipes!"

The race offers a mixed terrain route, starting on the flat along road and pavement then turning up onto the forestry track which is undulating with beautiful scenery. The forestry track will be a little challenging as it has a slow incline but organisers assure us that once runners reach the 5K point "it's a satisfying downhill run on the track then pavement all the way back to the finish line!"

New this year is the Kids Fun Run - a 1.3K dash on the pavement and includes a steep hill and steps. And should you feel the urge, there will be an opportunity to go for a dip in the loch after the run. Organisers comment: "As with the run, this is entirely at your own risk but is a safe, sheltered bay frequently used by local dippers. Remember to bring your swim wear, shoes and towel!"
