The Coigach Half Marathon is a small, friendly road race around the spectacular Coigach peninsula on Scotland's north-west coast, near Achiltibuie in the Highlands.
The 13.1-mile route is run entirely on narrow, single-track metalled roads, taking runners around the peninsula via Altandhu and Achnahaird before finishing at the Primary School Playing Field. Its remote setting provides outstanding views of the surrounding mountains, coastline and wild Highland landscape throughout the course.
Volunteer marshals support runners around the route, with four water stations provided. There is a three-hour cut-off and first-aid cover, while bags containing warm clothing can be transported to the finish.
Registration takes place at Coigach Community Hall, with transport available to the start approximately 1.25 miles away. Finishers receive a medal before returning to the hall for prize giving and a post-race tea, an important part of the welcoming community atmosphere that distinguishes this Highland Half Marathon.
