Christmas Pudding 10K

Run For Your (Christmas) Pudding!

This Lake District festive classic makes its return in early December...

There’s nothing quite like a few brisk miles in the countryside on a December morning – not to mention the Christmas spirit at the finish line – to get you into the festive mood. So the Christmas Pudding 10K, with the background of the beautiful Great Langdale Valley, sets the tone as one of the most charming and attractive rural winter events on the calendar.

Due to take place on Saturday 9 December, the 10K is organised by the team behind the Windermere Marathon, Brathay 10in10 and Langdale Marathon and Half Marathon races. With such a strong portfolio, you know you are in safe hands.

The Christmas Pudding 10K is a popular start to the festive season in the Lake District for locals and visitors alike. With over 1000 entered at its peak, this race appeals to all who enjoy the fun side of running, with festive fancy dress encouraged! Every finisher receives a Christmas pudding and there’s a prize for the best dressed to help get you into the Christmas spirit!

Pavey Ark, Harrison’s Stickle, Bowfell, Crinkle Crags and Pike O’Blisco all overlook the runners as they wait for the starting gun. It’s a short walk from the event centre at Sticklebarn to the start line – just enough to warm the legs on a cold winter's morning!

The course follows an undulating route, out and back along the stunning Great Langdale valley. The start line is close to the Sticklebarn, followed by 5K of fantastic scenery to a loop around Elterwater village, before returning to the head of the valley.
