Cumbrian race organiser, Lakeland Trails will celebrate 20 years of scenic events in 2024 and to mark the occasion they are offering a fantastic discount on entry to a number of their races. A spokesperson explained: "Celebrate our 20th year on the Lakeland Trails with our amazing launch offers which includes 20% off most 2024 entries for a limited time only."

As ever, these races will offer runners great entertainment, the friendliest marshals, a fantastic family-friendly atmosphere, and most importantly, epic trails surrounded by stunning scenery. So the question is, which of their gorgeous events will you opt for? Up first in the calendar are the the Hawkshead Trail Races on 13 April which offers runners far reaching views of the Lake District fells, rolling Beatrix Potter countryside and a challenging mile-long climb up an ancient 'Coffin Trail' and 10/16K race options.

A month later, on 4 May it is the turn of Staveley which (along with its 5, 10 and 18K events) will host a new half marathon route in 2024. Organisers explain: "We'll be adding a new half-ish marathon route to Staveley to celebrate our 20th anniversary - did you know this is where we held our first trail run back in 2004?"

That's not all that's new for 2024, there will also be a new venue for the Coniston event, including the marathon in June along with new sections of trail and another new route - the Mini-Marathon 10K.

If you're looking for a reference, you can't say better than the comment made by ultra-running legend Damian Hall who took part in the final event for 2023: “...they simply put on brill events."
