Castle Race Series Penshurst Place

Time to Run or Dye!

Full day of activities planned for Penshurst Place in June

Sunday 26 June is the date to paint in your diary as that's the day of the Castle Race Series at Penshurst Place the magnificent country pile near Tonbridge, Kent.

Castle Race Series is a multi-discipline festival of fun for all the family, held in the grounds of some of the most popular and picturesque castles and historic houses throughout the UK, Ireland and France. The full calendar of events includes swim, cycle, colour, obstacle and timed off-road running races at all distances from starter to ultra.

The Penshurst Place card kicks off with races in the beautiful grounds and ancient parkland of Penshurst – built in 1341 – the birthplace of the great Elizabethan poet, courtier and soldier, Sir Phillip Sidney.

The running order starts with the half marathon at 9:00am, followed by the 10K (9:30am) and 5K (10:00am). One hour later and it's time to Run or Dye – the famous colour run that'll make the colour run in your favourite T-shirt!

Run or Dye has three starts for a 5K, 3.5k or 1-mile powder paint spectacular that takes us up to the concluding Commando-style Obstacle races at 3:00pm (3K/16 obstacles for adults and bigger kids) and 4:00pm (600m/10 obstacles for 4-7 year olds).

During the day – starting at 10:30am – walkers can enjoy an 8K stroll around the grounds and parklands and the entry fee includes discounted entry to Penshurst Gardens.

With fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support; group warmups; live music; food and drinks stalls; medals for timed run finishers; T-shirts for colour run participants; dog tags for obstacle course runners and discounted photos this looks like the perfect fun-packed family day out in a spectacular location.
