Carlisle Half Runners

Come On Carlisle!

Check out Carlisle for a springtime half or 10K...

Since the race's inception in 2018 over 5000 runners have taken part in the Carlisle Half Marathon & 10K, and with a continuous desire to grow and improve year-on-year, organisers are planning a bigger and better than ever staging for 2023.

The springtime event will take place on 12 March, starting and finishing at Carlisle's Brunton Park Football Stadium - home of Carlisle United FC. The course will see runners start from the main straight at the back of the East Stand and run into Rickerby Park before heading to Linstock & Crosby on Eden before turning back on what will be an out and back route.

The event, run entirely on closed roads, will be chip-timed to ensure that everyone's run is accurately tracked and recorded and with the combination of distances on offer - half marathon and 10K, the phrase 'something for everyone' really rings true.

Organisers say: "Carlisle Half Marathon and 10K is a great place to have some fun and some quality time together and gain fitness in the process. It's sure to be a brilliant day for the city!"

All participants will receive a goodie bag with half marathon runners receiving a t-shirt as well - we hear these are particularly popular thanks to their bright nature! Music will be played at various locations around the course to maximise runner enjoyment and with a spectacular 'spinning centre' medal up for grabs, it’s an event worth running for the bling alone.

Entries are coming in thick and fast so organisers recommend you grab your place on the start line soon to avoid disappointment. If you would like to know more visit the Carlisle Half & 10K website here
