The Buxton Half Marathon is a road race through the Peak District countryside, starting near Buxton Opera House and finishing in Pavilion Gardens. The single lap route heads out of town along Axe Edge before continuing through quiet country lanes surrounded by limestone hills and open scenery.
With around 460 metres of elevation gain, this is a demanding Half Marathon known for its long climbs and rolling roads rather than fast times. The course passes landmarks including Chrome Hill, Park House Hill and Dowel Dale, making it one of the more scenic and testing road races in the region.
