Burnley 10K transfers to a new home turf
The grass was greener for the Asda Foundation Burnley 10K at the launch of this year’s race at Turf Moor, the home of Burnley FC or ‘The Clarets’. This marks the beginning of a partnership between Burnley FC and Run For All to raise thousands of pounds for local charities.
There is always a sense of excitement when the Burnley 10K is in town and the race attracts more than 2,000 runners who enjoy the picturesque course, enthusiastic crowds and quality post-race goodies.
Burnley 10K is part of the Asda Foundation series of events from Run For All who fundraise for a wide range of local and national charities. It is open to runners of all ages and abilities and the organisers hope this partnership will encourage more people to enter. The event’s partner charities will benefit from their generosity.
Burnley FC's manager and players helped launch the Burnley 10K from their stadium at Turf Moor along with the partner charities. This relationship between the club, Burnley Borough Council and Run For All aims to strengthen community involvement while improving the lives of its residents.
Burnley 10K takes place on Sunday 28 June at 9.30am from Turf Moor. Runners follow a scenic route that includes Towneley Park and Thompson Park – the latter known for its Italian Gardens and boating lake. It crosses Harry Potts Way named after the former player and manager in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and finishes in the stadium.
