Shotgun 10K Returns!

Springtime Staffordshire 10K returns after successful 2024 debut...

Following its well-received inaugural staging in 2024, the Blymhill Shotgun 10K (ish) is set to return on 6 April, offering runners another chance to experience this unique and challenging event in the Staffordshire countryside. Described as a fun and friendly multi-terrain event, the race covers 9.9K of scenic countryside, making it an ideal challenge for both seasoned trail runners and those looking for something a little different.

Starting and finishing in the heart of Blymhill & Weston Village, the race follows an anticlockwise loop along a mix of local roads, public footpaths, fields and stiles, with nearly 80 metres of elevation gain to test participants along the way.

The 2024 edition of the event saw nearly 100 runners take part in what was widely praised as a well-organised and welcoming race. Participant Phillip Haworth shared his experience: “It was a small but very well-organised race, not put on by a running club but by the village community. The race was mainly off-road on very wet and muddy fields, but great fun. There is nothing like being covered in mud on a Sunday morning.”

Those taking part this year can look forward to free tea and coffee, a barbecue and bar as well as goodie bags, medals, and homemade cake at the finish line. With all proceeds going to charity, the Blymhill Shotgun 10K offers a chance to challenge yourself, enjoy the countryside and support a good cause.
