The Black Diamond Snowdon 24 is a 24 hour mountain endurance event organised by Always Aim High Events and based in Llanberis. Participants attempt to complete as many ascents and descents of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) as possible within 24 hours, competing either solo or in relay teams of up to five runners.
Starting and finishing on the Llanberis Event Field, every lap follows the Llanberis Path to the summit of Yr Wyddfa before returning to the event village. Solo runners test their endurance across the full 24 hours, while relay teams alternate laps throughout the event, with every ascent contributing to the overall team total. The race is fully supported with mountain leaders, marshals, professional chip timing, rest areas and event facilities operating throughout the challenge.
The event is UTMB Index recognised for solo competitors and offers milestone awards for multiple completed ascents, alongside bespoke local Welsh slate finisher mementos. Combining mountain endurance, teamwork and the spectacular scenery of Eryri National Park, the Black Diamond Snowdon 24 is one of the UK's most distinctive ultra running challenges.
