Runway Runners

Bag A PB And Help Those In Need

This is a festival of running on a PB course that has charity at its heart...

Launched in 2020 between lockdowns, the Big Flat Runway Races were so popular organisers are bringing them back for 2022, and there's still time to enter the 10 April event!

Road running on Elvington Airfield's runway, with a choice of distances, these are safe, flat races to suit everyone, from beginners to those chasing GFA times for London, from parkrunners to club runners.

Five road race distances are available (5K, 10K, 10M, half marathon and marathon) and every race is chip-timed, officially measured and UKA licensed.

In light of the current situation in Ukraine event organisers have decided to donate all the profits from the Big Flat Runway Races to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and the DEC Afghanistan Crisis Appeal.

EvenSplits will take no income from the event; all the profit made will go to the two appeals. In conjunction with this organisers will endeavour to minimise all expenditure across the event.

A spokesperson at EvenSplits said: "RaceBest has waived all transaction fees on race entry, Elvington Airfield has reduced the price for the day and DS Medals and Trophies have discounted the cost of the medals!

"Not only that, we also have the fantastic services of Paul Mitchell at Route North as event photographer. Even more reason to give him a smile and a thumbs up when you run past!"

You can find out more about these fantastic events and the charity-minded mission by visiting the EvenSplits website.
