Bertha Trail Run Back In 2024
Fancy a trail race with cake at its heart?
A springtime trail run just outside of Perth with delicious treats at the finish line... surely the only question worth asking is 'where do I sign up?'. The Bertha Park Trail Run will return for the second time, with a 2024 date of 25 February.
Organised by Wee Run Events, the race will see runners starting at the bottom of Bertha Park (Bertha Park Way) near the entrance to the trail to the woods and they will finish on the green next to the visitor car park at Springfield Homes.
The 10K trail run goes around Perth's Bertha Loch, right up to Almondbank and then back along the river. The course has technical parts and muddy sections as runners make their way through the woods with gentle hills and scenic wintery views. Parts of the route are on tarmac, so organisers recommend using shoes that can cope with both trail and road.
Speaking about their event, organisers commented: "This is ideal for trail runners, cross country runners, joggers, new and experienced alike! We welcome all runners, from all backgrounds and all genders.
The really good news is that Starfish Cakes & Bakes are sponsoring the event in 2024, so each runner will have a yummy treat waiting for them at the finish line! There will also be medals that have been handcrafted by the Workshop in Aberfeldy for all finishers.
Organisers told us: "T-shirts are not included in our entry price as we are aware that many people have wardrobes overflowing with t-shirts that they don't want, don't like and will end up in a landfill - we may offer them at an additional cost which you can purchase on entry if you like."
