After a five year hiatus, one of the Outer Hebrides best known events will return for 2025 - the Benbecula Half Marathon's last outing was in 2019 and so there is much excitement at the prospect of its return to the race calendar.

The date for its return has been set for 31 May, with organisers commenting: "Our race is a great way to challenge yourself while soaking in the stunning scenery of the Outer Hebrides! We must extend a massive thanks to our title sponsors Benbecula Distillery who have helped us get this event back up and running."

The scenic race attracts runners of all levels who want to experience the stunning landscapes and the unique culture of the island. It is a great place to race, but you'd be crazy not to extend your trip and enjoy more of what the Outer Hebrides has to offer.

Runners will set off from Liniclate Sports Centre and the course will feature a mix of flat and gently undulating terrain, making it suitable for both seasoned runners and those new to half marathons. Those taking part can expect to run along picturesque coastal roads, through local villages and past breathtaking views of the rugged landscape and wildlife.
