Take Two For A 10K Treat

Why run one autumn 10K when you can run two?

Why enter just one autumn 10K, when you can enter two thanks to a special two-race bundle from organisers Raceways. The bundle gains you entrance to the Alcester 10K (8 October) and the Redditch Kingfisher 10K (29 October).

Back for its ninth year, the Alcester 10K starts and finishes in the beautiful market town of Alcester near Stratford Upon Avon and organisers boast that 'it’s a race not to be missed'! They say: "The 2022 event had more runners than ever and sold out early, so make sure you get registered fast!"

Starting on the High Street the route takes runners out into the stunning country lanes of Warwickshire for a single loop with two drinks stations along the way, finishing with welcome cheers from the friendly locals. In 2022 the autumn event was won by James Marshall in 33.20 while first female was Maisie-Joy Spriggs of Stratford AC in a time of 39:05.

Just 20 days later, is the Redditch Kingfisher 10K which takes place in Redditch town centre. The 10K race takes in elements of the Kingfisher Trail around the town and boasts a relatively flat, closed-road route. 2022 was the inaugural year for the event with over 500 runners taking part, Park Welborn won the race in 32:34 and Laura Porter took first female position in 38:40.

Both of these events offer chip timing, post-race snacks and race photography as standard. With great settings, why not stay and enjoy what each town has to offer from their many cafes and pubs?

As with all Raceways events, the organiser's charity partners Marathon Kids UK will host a free to enter 1K Kids Fun Run which starts and ends next to the adult finish line and all children receive a medal, so the whole family can enjoy the fun!
