Antartica 2023

Have you got the attitude for this latitude?

Marathon Tours & Travel offers a once-in-a-lifetime twelve day package for the 2023 edition of Antarctica Marathon & Half Marathon

It's the seventh continent in the world, situated over the South Pole at the base of the globe, almost entirely below latitude 66.5 degrees south of the equator. Antarctica is the windiest, coldest, and driest place on earth – just the ticket for your ultimate, bucket list marathon challenge!

Marathon Tours & Travel has been leading trips to the Antarctica Marathon & Half Marathon since 1995 and the event organisers as well as the exclusive tour operator, so their experience is extensive. Just 200 runners and their supporters will be travelling to the 2023 event on Wednesday, 22 March and registrations for this sell-out race close on Saturday (1 October).

The tailor-made, 12-day itinerary offers guaranteed entry to the event whilst also allowing for the exploration of one of the most beautiful places in the world, with the opportunity to view and experience glaciers, penguins, whales and so much more.

The incredible Antarctica Tour Package offers a breathtaking host of activities, which look set to provide a unique experience. The jam-packed travel itinerary begins with three nights of hotel accommodation in Buenos Aires, with the chance to participate in guided tours, training runs, and the all-important race briefing.

Flights to Ushuaia will follow to start the trip on the Ocean Victory small cruise ship to the race destination of King George Island in Antarctica for the race. The trip also includes zodiac and wildlife excursions to explore the breathtaking surroundings up-close and visit remote, isolated areas of Antarctica.

Sarah Boyd of Marathon Tours & Travel explains: “Joining a small-ship cruise of Antarctica is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that few get to enjoy. Fewer still can say they have done so while completing a marathon. As the exclusive Antarctica Marathon tour operator our runners will benefit from expert guides, comfort on board our modern expedition ship, and the unique opportunity to race in one of the most challenging adventure marathons in the world!”
