Suspended In Reality
Anglesey is calling this September with the return of the island's Half Marathon & 10K events...
Forget the virtual events of lockdown, who fancies an event that is literally suspended in reality? The Jones Crisps Anglesey Half Marathon & 10K (5 September) will require a head for heights with both distances offering a thrilling race start some 30 metres off the ground atop the iconic Menai Suspension Bridge.
After a start line like no other, runners will enjoy a completely closed road event flowing down through Menai Bridge and along the winding roads to Beaumaris, the route has breathtaking views of the Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Straits.
The Half Marathon and 10k races are perfect for all abilities with hundreds of first-timers, fundraisers and seasoned runners lining up together on the start. Providing the perfect mid-point for any marathon preparation, this beautiful undulating course with stunning scenery is perfect for PB seekers.
Also returning for 2021 is the hugely popular Rib Ride’s Dragon’s Dash junior race, which will see many young people from across North Wales take part in the 1 mile run which also starts on Menai Suspension Bridge.
Tim Lloyd, Always Aim High Events Director said: “We’re incredibly proud to see the Jones Crisps Anglesey Half and 10k come back to the island for 2021. This event was actually the last event we ran pre pandemic and we are excited, as I’m sure all of the participants are to see it return.
“With charities being so hard hit during the pandemic it is amazing to see people running to raise money for really worthy causes too, all at the most beautiful half marathon in the UK!”
Entries to the 2021 Jones Crisps Anglesey Half Marathon & 10k are still open with spaces filling up fast. Head over to the event website to find out more and secure your space on the start line.
